JSP – Poly Gear Linkage Bush Kit
Flat blade screwdriver
A Piece of 400 grit sand paper
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Locate the Linkages, these will be down the passenger side
of the engine bay connected to the gearbox. (removal of the air
box will make this a lot easier).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Remove the two small spring clips inserted in the pivots, there
is one on each linkage, be careful not to loose them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Lift the linkages up and off the pivots.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Where the pivots were inserted in the bush, you will now slide
your screw driver in, not too far just enough to give you something
to lever the old bushes out with (might take a bit of fiddling).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Once the old rubber bushes are removed from the linkage assembly,
take a piece of light sand paper, anything arround 400 grit will
do fine,
and clean up the inside of the linkage where the bush used to
be,
this cleans any corrosion there may be and also helps make sure
the
bearings are a good fit.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Next clean the pin at the gear box end with the 400 grit paper,
this removes anything that may stop the insert fuctioning correctly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Slide one of the large washers onto the pin.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Carefully Slide the black Insert onto the pin and make sure
it rotates freely and
smoothly, failure to do so may result in sticky or heavy gear
changes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. Once you are happy that the insert is working correctly on
the pin,
slide on the Poly Bush itself onto the insert.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10. Then slip on the linkage over the bush assembly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11 . Once both linkages are slid on the bushes, put the other
large washer on top then the 2 smaller washers in place.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12. Then slide the spring clips into place as before.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
13 . Make sure everything is nice and tight and secure.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14 . Enjoy!!!

-: Comparison of old worn Rubber/Brass
Bush Vs New Poly Bush and Insert :-

As you can see over time the brass insert in the standard Toyota
Bush wears and turns
egg shaped this is where the play/looseness is in the old linkage
bushes.
